The Uprising has returned!

We’re so excited to be back with the third installment of THE UPRISING! It hits Clarksville on Friday, October 11 at 7pm this year. It will be at a new venue: APSU’s Music/Mass Comm Building on 8th & Marion St. (click here for a map).

This year, we’ll be joined by an amazing band that many of you have heard and love, House of Heroes! I’ll be giving a message about what The Uprising is all about: LIFE, DEATH, and ETERNITY. You won’t want to miss this life-changing night, so mark your calendars, and spread the word!

We want to give a special thanks to all the churches that are partnering together to put this event on: GraceLife Church, Grace Church of the Nazarene, His Church, Awaken Church, and Crossroads Christian Fellowship.

And for your visual & audible pleasure, here’s one of my favorite songs by House of Heroes. Enjoy…

Cover the City

Cover The City is our advertising initiative to reach as much of Clarksville as possible. We want EVERYONE to know about The Uprising, but to do that, we need your help!

November 5-9 (the week of The Uprising), groups from around the city will be hitting the streets in their area to pray for and promote the event. Below is the map of the city and the 10 sections we’ve divided it into. Many of you have already signed up to promote in a certain area, but if you’re not signed up, there’s still time.

If you need promo material (postcards, posters, etc.) or would like to sign up for Cover The City, please email us at and we’d be happy to get you what you need!

The Movement Continues…

The night will include a message of hope about eternity and special music by an incredible band called The Almost. Watch the video below to get pumped up!

The Uprising was just the beginning…

Our first-ever (and first of many) Uprising was amazing! Not only did we have 600+ in attendance, 150 volunteers serving from at least 5 different churches, an amazing concert with Love And Death, but we also saw 40 people give their lives to Jesus that night! THAT is what it’s all about!

If you were one of the many people who came forward that night, we wanted to let you know that we dedicated a page on this website just for you!

We spent hundreds of dollars putting together new believer packets for The Uprising, and we did that for a reason. We want to make it clear that we’re not just focused on getting a bunch of people to raise their hands and pray a prayer, but we also want to see those people discipled and growing deeper in their new relationship with Jesus.

I can’t say it any better than Pastor Steve said it on the New Believers’ page, so I won’t take up the room here, but the idea is simple. The decision you just made to follow Jesus is the best one you could ever make…but it’s not over – that decision was just the beginning of a new life!

It’s vital that you dive deeper into that new relationship and we’ve done our best to help make that as successful as possible. If you got a New Believers’ packet, it contained a letter, a Bible, and a map of local Clarksville churches. Those are all important as you continue pursuing Jesus.

If you gave your life to Jesus and would like to share your story, email us at

Also, if you gave your life to Jesus that night, or since then, and didn’t get a New Believers’ kit, we’d be happy to mail one to you. Just email us your address and let us know!

The Uprising that you experienced on March 14, 2012 was just the beginning. Stay tuned for more in the future!

If you didn’t get to go, make sure to check out the pictures and videos!

The Uprising triples!

In case you didn’t hear the big news, our seating capacity just TRIPLED for The Uprising!

Almost every day we get at least 1 or 2 more people signing up to volunteer at The Uprising, which means we have over 100 volunteers at this point. Our original venue was the Music/Mass Communications Building at Austin Peay, but the problem was the capacity. We would only be able to hold 532 people! With over 100 volunteers already, there’s just no way that will work!

So we made a bold move with just 3 1/2 weeks till the event: we changed the venue to the Red Barn at Austin Peay.

Same time, same date, same band, same message, same campus – just different building and THREE TIMES the seating!

Join The Movement

Everyone wants to have meaning. Everyone wants to be a part of something bigger than themselves. The Uprising is the perfect opportunity for you to do just that…and we have plenty of ways for you to serve!

Tomorrow (Thursday, February 9, 2012), Awaken Church is hosting a city-wide Join The Movement Meeting. It meets at 6:30pm at Awaken Church, which is downtown near Crossland & Riverside (585 S. Riverside Dr.). At the meeting, you’ll be able to sign up to serve on different teams on the day of the event. Here are the teams that are available…

It doesn’t matter which church you attend or what your denominational background is, we want to include you in The Uprising! Join us this Thursday for a brief meeting to catch the vision for the event and be a part of something that will change many lives!

If you want to serve, those are your options. You can also GIVE ONLINE any time!

Who are you bringing?

March 14 has been circled on many calendars for months, but it’s now quickly approaching! It’s going to be a huge night as churches unite from around the city to kick off the beginning of this movement.

However, from the start, one thing we’ve been emphasizing is the importance bringing someone with you!

The Uprising has never been targeted toward Christians. It’s never been about entertaining a bunch of Christians. The Uprising has one main goal: JESUS. So the question we want you to ponder is who and how many people will you be bringing with you?

I know, from inviting people myself, that you have friends and will run into many strangers who will be really excited about Brian “Head” Welch and/or Korn. It’s a killer opportunity to utilize big names like those to invite people to come hear Brian’s story, his music, and a message that could change their lives.

I will not be teaching a “Bible study” – it will be a full-on evangelistic message targeted at reaching those who are far from Christ.

We hope you’ll utilize this opportunity to bring someone who needs Jesus. And just in case you need some ideas of who to invite, here are a few…

– your teacher at school

– your next door neighboor

– your neighbor from across the street

– everyone on your block

– that kid riding his bike down your street

– the repairman or Jehovah’s Witness who knocks on your door

– the guy who changes your oil

– your babysitter

– the check-out clerk at Wal-Mart

– the barista at Starbucks or Lasaters

– everyone coming out of a concert in Nashville

– a used car salesman

– a lawyer

– a Police officer (hopefully not because you got pulled over)

– and the list goes on…

Be creative and be bold. God could use a simple invite to change someone’s eternal destination!

So… WHO ARE YOU BRINGING? Let us know who you have invited or will be inviting in the comments below…
